Here's the pwc.ko file for SuSE 9.3 for some webcams.
Make sure to just copy or move it to here: /lib/modules/2.6.11.4-20a-default/kernel/drivers/usb/media
and that should be all there is to it.
Here's a tarball I found that has a guide for DVD ripping in Linux.
It's got enough instructions to get even newbies through it fairly easily.
**** NEW ITEMS! ****
If you find you just can't ditch that M$ operating system, at least
use a browser that is going to keep you somewhat safer
while surfing the 'net. Internet Explorer is a bug-ridden
catastrophe! I suggest either one of these:
It's safer, more configurable and *free*!
OR
Fast and also *free*!
I've got a few little messes here and there,
which you may or may not find helpful or interesting.
So click on a link, like this one, and enjoy.
If you're 35 or older, you'll know that *sometimes*
statistics just don't lie. Here's proof.
You'll find that I don't care much for
M$ or their products, that's why this site is made so that *ANY* browser can
view it.
Here's my webcam,
the page 'should' automatically refresh every 60 seconds (when I have it turned on of course).
You'll only see new pics when it's turned on (I can't get DSL or
cable way out in the woods yet where I am...bummer).
This is the Linux app I use for my webcam
