Wetumpka Volunteer Fire Department

I would like to thank our volunteer firemen for a great job this past year. If you see any of our firemen thank them for the job they do. People don’t think about us until they need the fire department. Our firemen are up all times of the day and night doing our best to make others safe. Too many times they are taken for granted. Our firemen respond to fires, wrecks and medical emergencies anytime someone is in need of our help at no pay. We all do this because we all like to help people. We need some good people to step forward and join us as a fireman. To be a fireman you don’t always have to be in the fire so to speak. We could use help around the station, fund raising and vehicle maintenance.This a very rewarding job. This time of the year we need to check around our homes for leaves that pile up. We are in the forest fire season, so be sure to keep leaves, limbs and debris from around your homes, shops and all outside buildings in case of a woods fire in your area.
