Home Reps Needed MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Sender: abuse@connect.com.au Thank-you for your e-mail to abuse@connect.com.au. This is an automatic reply to acknowledge receipt of your e-mail regarding "Fwd: Need extra Cash? Home Reps Needed". If you have sent multiple messages to us within 24hrs, you will only receive one acknowledgement. Please read all of the following information carefully. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please use these contacts for swifter action regarding your complaint: Complaints regarding "WOTCH.COM, The Wotch Network, The Gadget Factory" (etc) should be directed to abuse@wotch.com. Complaints regarding abuse and/or spam from smartchat.net.au users should be sent to abuse@smartchat.net.au Complaints regarding "Ted's Newsletter, Tobacco Ted / Cigarette Station or Welcome to the Fragrance Club" (etc) should be directed to abuse@greenrider.com Complaints regarding "e-medialtd.com" should be directed to ssarkis@sarkis.com.au ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All users of CONNECT services (including all users of downstream networks) are bound by the CONNECT Acceptable Use Policy* which includes specific guidelines on Unsolicited Bulk E-mail or "SPAM". CONNECT ensures that this policy is adhered to at all times, and will take appropriate action on any breaches. * The CONNECT Acceptable Use Policy is available at: http://info.connect.com.au/docs/legalese/acceptuse.html For more information regarding SPAM, please see the CONNECT Anti-Spamming Page: http://info.connect.com.au/docs/stopspam/index.html We aim to action reports of Acceptable Use Policy breaches within two or so working days, replying personally whenever possible. However due to the high volume of e-mail we see everyday, personal replies are not guaranteed and this may be the only correspondence you see regarding your e-mail. Not receiving a personal reply does not indicate no action was taken in regards to your complaint. Please note that abuse@connect.com.au deals primarily with complaints regarding Unsolicited Bulk E-mail (UBE) - incidents of other types of network abuse including security-related problems and network issues may be directed to security@connect.com.au In cases where the abuse originates from an ISP customer of us, we will forward your complaint onto the administrators of the network in question, and will only take action against them when they prove unresponsive. If your e-mail is regarding UBE that was relayed through an insecure mail server ("open relay") on a customers network, we will contact the customer as soon as possible and inform them of the issue. Blocks will be put in place when the customer proves unresponsive to our correspondence, or the abuse of their server(s) threatens the performance or stability of the CONNECT network. Please note personal replies are not normally sent for open mail relay issues due to the high number of them we receive. When reporting instances of SPAM, be sure to include the full text of any message headers, or, in the case of security incidents, any relevant log information (including source/destination IP addresses, dates, times and timezone information). **We cannot process complaints without all of this information, not including this information initially will create delays in processing**. Please note that most Unsolicited Bulk E-mail (SPAM) normally has a forged sender address and often many other subterfuges - indiscriminately complaining to anyone vaguely mentioned in the headers or body is unlikely to result in swift action, and may simply cause further distress to innocent parties. A good tool for determining the source of SPAM can be found at: http://www.spamcop.net Please do not complain to the administrators of top level domains - in the case of Australia, the top level domains are: com.au, edu.au, gov.au, id.au, net.au, org.au, oz.au, asn.au, info.au and conf.au (connect.com.au being authoritive only for net.au). It is much more effective using path tracing tools such as "traceroute" or querying "whois" databases to find the originating network of spam, and directing the complaint to the nearest point of contact to the source. If you are an end-user, contacting your local site administrator (or support staff for ISP customers) is a good idea - they usually have more experience tracking network abuse, and may also be aware of other related incidents. The "Network Abuse Clearinghouse" (http://www.abuse.net) has a good tutorial on finding the source of spam: http://spam.abuse.net/howtocomplain.html We hope the information contained in this response proves to be useful to you.
