TRCLHCA (The Real Canonical List of Humorous Computer Acronyms)

I did not make all of these up myself (although many of them are mine), so I can't claim credit for their creation. I found them on the internet or in printed materials and wanted to collect them all into this list. Quite a few of these came from Apronyms, where the original expansion creators are generally known because the expansion creator is the person who submitted it to the list (and I've submitted a few over there too, so check it out).

In most cases, it's nearly impossible to find the original creator of a humorous acronym expansion. However, where I could find it, the original creator of an acronym's real meaning is noted in the Real Meanings columns below. Oh, and if you were wondering about the real expansion for an acronym that isn't here, check my Computer Acronyms List; okay, it's a plain text file, but it's content/image ratio is infinite (x/0 = Infinity). One of these days when I can get a hosting provider with MySQL/PHP support, I'll put it and this page into a database; until then, we're stuck with static pages.

Yes, many of these are backronyms that didn't have an acronymic meaning to begin with. Well, this is my list, and I found them humorous, so I included them. Also, if you're curious, many of the backronyms below can be generated by the AIEEE (Acronym Interaction, Expansion and Extrapolation Engine) and C.Y.B.O.R.G. applets at the Brunching Shuttlecocks site; I've shamelessly borrowed many expansions from it for this list. However, I reserve the right not to include an acronym expansion if I take personal offense at the expansion; I'm not a prude, but there are more creative expansions that don't devolve to below the gutter.

Yes, also, quite a few of the acronyms (and backronyms) listed here are applicable in other areas of study. I've tried to limit the ones I include in this list only to those that I've seen in computer industry publications or that have some significance to computers and computer programming.
