Springs Trout Farm
This large spring was the site
of a trading post between the French and Indians in the 1740's. A
large line of springs can be seen along the far shore from one side of
the picture to the other. All told there are about 30 individual
springs in a half dozen areas. At peak flow in the spring the flow
is almost 1000 gal. a minute. That's enough flow to prevent freezing
of the pond even on the coldest days of winter,
