Twelve memo books belonging to Thomas Jefferson Lowry
have been transcribed and are now available from the Society
.
Reverend Lowry was born December 5, 1813. In
June 1836, he was licensed to preach. As he traveled the many different
Methodist charges under his leadership, he kept these memo books up to
date. Whether it's a recipe for making ink, a list of church members
or a payment made on a tombstone from Paudcah, KY, Reverend Lowry recorded
it in his memo book.

Armstrong was from Calhoun County (His father, Alexander,

The Miller brothers were from Paris in Lafayette County,
only a short distance from the northern Calhoun County line. They were
all members of Co. K,"Magnolia Guards," (the 17th Regiment Mississippi

together. When both Ezekiel Armstrong and Ezekiel Miller were killed in
Dec. 1862, they were found buried in the same grave.
It has 358 pages, including several photos and other
material along with the three diaries. The book is a limited
