We did! But we were not sure the statement 'It's all FREE! What are you waiting for?' necessarily agreed with the fine print stating that up to $36 activation fee may apply. So before accepting the phones, we called Cingular Wireless and spoke to 'Kathleen'. We were assured that the phone were going to be sent on a 30 day free trail basis and FREE meant free. Sure, if we kept the phones, there would be an activation fee but the phones would be sent on a 30 day FREE trail. If we didn't like the phones, we could return them within the 30 days and there would be no charge. Cingular's Kathleen assured us that just like the paper said, 'It's all FREE!', so we accepted the offer and tried the phones.
Well, we didn't like the phones. The signal came and went. Where there were bars one time, a few minutes later in the same location there would be none. The calls were often dropped and on a number of occasions we had to borrow a phone (on a different wireless service) to complete our call. So we returned the phones - within the 30 day period and guess what? Free ain't free! We received a bill for $372.26!!!! After an hour and half waiting on hold to 'resolve' the issue and after being disconnected once, Cingular finally agrees to waive the $150 'early termination' fees for each phone leaving the balance they claim we owe them for agreeing to try their crappy phones for their 30 day FREE TRAIL. Buyer Beware! Be afraid, be very afraid! More complaints about Cingular Wireless: |
