2008 Ride Calendar
Updated 10/18/08
Different Spokes has been Madison's bicycling club for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and friends since 1993.

Our main events are rides on lesser-traveled roads or trails. Most routes have short and long routes to accomodate riders with different interests and abilities.

For more information, or to get on the distribution list for ride calendars, call Dave, (608)241-8184 or Bob, (608)273-4117 or rherbst@tds.net .

Look for last minute ride info in Madison's weekly Isthmus under Gay and Lesbian in The Guide to Arts and Entertainment or www.isthmus.com/theguide/ and select Gay and Lesbian. Be sure to check The News to the left.

Ride Info

Riders should have a bike in good condition and equipment to make simple roadside repairs (e.g. inner tube, tire levers and pump). Helmets are required. Riders are responsible for providing their own water and food.

Ride leaders provide route maps and cue sheets, which allow riders to ride at their own pace. Ride leaders usually arrange a meeting point for lunch and socializing.

Rides start at the stated time. Latecomers may be able to get route maps from a vehicle windshield at the starting point.

Riding with us is at your own risk. As we are riding on public roads, Different Spokes takes no responsibility for your safety. That is up you as a responsible rider.
