Mars is a large tourist-baiting, castle-themed (inside & out) cheese & gift store with its own cocktail lounge.

Large Carved Wooden Hand Throwing a Ball

location:  Salem & Paddock Lake
roadside oddity

This carving is located at the intersection known as Brass Ball Corners, so named for the Brass Ball Tavern that once occupied the spot.  The tavern, which dated back to 1855, was originally decorated with a "gilded wooden ball' that gave it its name.  That original ball is gone, but a 20" gilded metal replica was hung over the intersection for a time.  The 2nd ball was actually an aluminum buoy from a mine washed up on a Florida beach.

Bjorn's Fine Clothing Store & Museum

location:  Kenosha
museum / business with character

Mummies and plastic faces grace the facade of Bjorn's, yet these curiosities pale to the madness within.

The juxtapositional imagery of a painted street walker with the Bluegrass State's best-known purveyor of oil-cooked fowl gives one pause.

No mere Midwestern clothier, Mike Bjorn has his store packed to the rafters with oddities and amusements.

Richard I. Bong State State Recreation Area

paranormal hub
location:  Burlington (Racine County) & Kansasville

"Located outside of Burlington Wisconsin, Bong Park is extremely high in paranormal activity, as is most areas where you find underground tunnel systems and ancient mound works.  Spectral lights are witnessed in the woods northeast of the dog trail area. Many have witnessed UFO sightings in this area. There is also cultist activity here in the northeastern section of the park . This would be in the ‘no vehicle zone’ off of existing trails in the wooded area off of old Hwy 75.  This is the second most dangerous part of Bong Park."
