About Us

The people of God who gather at Nordland invite you to join us in our fellowship around the Word and Sacrament.

Our "family" has about 500 members and we enjoy having vacationers and other friends come and gather with us!

You'll find a group of people at Nordland who are friendly, and loving, based in the love of our Father who made us His Friends in Christ Jesus! You'll be welcomed into the community of the Spirit as you join with us in:

Worship -- We gather around God's Word on Sunday morning to offer prayer and praise in worship:

    • September through May,
      • Worship Every Sunday at 10:30 AM.
    • Summer Worship Schedule:
      • 9:00 AM on Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day;
      • Coffee and refreshments following worship
    • Communion Sundays:
      • We rejoice to celebrate the Sacrament with all who believe and confess Jesus as the present and risen Lord. You are welcome at the Lord's Table the first and third Sunday of each month and special festivals such as Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, and Reformation.

Education -- September through May

    • Our Sunday School meets at 9:15 AM and provides a Christian Educational Ministry to all those three years old through adults.
    • We also have special Bible Study / Prayer Groups that organize from time to time to seek nurture in their life's pilgrimage of faith.
    • In addition, each member receives The Lutheran, an ELCA monthly publication and a daily devotional Christ in Our Home.

Fellowship --

The Keenagers is a group for those 39 and older who have an opportunity to study, pray, play, and talk. The group meets on the 3rd Sunday of the month and is often involved in projects around the church.

The Youth League provides fellowship opportunities for youth in a variety of ways.

The Nordland Lutheran Church Women (NLCW) meet each month (except in the summer). Women gather for Christian Service Day. Quilts are stitched, and layettes are made for mission work. The quilts are auctioned off at the Mission Fest in late June, to raise money to support our missionaries. Three Circles meet to share Bible Study. The NLCW also meets periodically for programs of inspiration, and provides many other service opportunities during the year.

Many of our members and friends have received support and encouragement during difficult times through the ministry of our Prayer Chains.

Music --

Each Wednesday evening and Sunday morning, September through May, our church is alive with singing by the Choir and special musicians.

Special Events --

The annual Mission Fest is held at the Koronis Community Park on the fourth Saturday in June. It features a family-style dinner and an auction. All proceeds go to support foreign missions.

These and other events, as well as articles and news of interest to members and friends, are published each month in our Winds of the Spirit newsletter.
