*Mary, Mary*
by Jean Kerr
directed by Ted Scheffer & Jerry Weldon
Mary is contrary,
and her basic trouble is insecurity. Her older sister, on the other hand,
is a stunner!
In high school,
Mary went out for the literary guild instead of boys...but learned to
compensate for her drabness by being clever.
When we meet her,
she appears at the apartment of her former husband, because her lawyer
has summoned her to help with some sticky tax returns. The marriage, it
seems, foundered on the rocks of Mary's unrelenting sense of humor. The
addition of Dirk, a handsome ex-star and the rich, young healthy fiend
Tiffany....lead to love returning for Bob & Mary.
