Furniture Safety - What to Use
Secure any of these items that can be found in your home:
Dressers
Wardrobes
Changing tables
Nightstands
Bookcases
China cabinets/hutches
Curio cabinets
Other cabinets or storage furniture
Baker's rack or other wrought iron or similar pieces
Sideboard
Entertainment centers/units
TV tables
Television sets
Computer monitors
Free standing butcher block or island
Wheeled furniture
All of the following products can be found on-line.
For storage furniture weighing less than 100-125 pounds fully loaded
Safety First Furniture Wall Straps. Fabric straps that can generally hold more weight. Must be secured into a stud. Use at least 2 straps per piece of furniture.
Kidco Anti-Tip Furniture Straps. Fabric straps that can generally hold more weight. Must be secured into a stud. Use at least 2 straps per piece of furniture.
“L” brackets. Can be found at home improvement stores. Use at least 2 per piece and screw into furniture and into a wood stud in the wall.
Mommy's Helper Furniture Safety Brackets
Use at least 2 per piece of furniture, attach both into studs if possible, and use 2 of the cable tie straps per bracket. You can purchase additional cable ties at home improvement stores. The cable ties can become brittle and snap after some time so check them frequently.
For storage furniture weighing more than 100-125 pounds fully loaded (this will include most dressers, bookcases, and other storage furniture)

Quake Hold Steel Furniture Cable
For each television/computer monitor:
Parent Units Anti-Slip Safety Strap. Attaches the TV or monitor to the stand on which it sits. ALSO use at least 2 furniture safety straps on the tv/monitor stand.
For large or big screen TV's: Quake Hold TV Strap or Big Screen TV strap. They also make a computer strap. ALSO use at least 2 furniture safety straps on the tv/monitor stand.
NOT Recommended
We do not recommend using beaded plastic tethering devices such as this as they can easily snap if not installed exactly correctly and can become brittle and snap over time.
