LaFarr Stuart's MVQA.com & WPQA.com -- Purpose and History

I have had a web site for several years, and in the fall of 2006 I decided to created a web site to provide information of interest to people in the park where I live during the winter months.

I registered the domain names: MVQA.com and WPQA.com which stand for "Mountain View Quartzsite Arizona" and "West Park Quartzsite Arizona" respectively.

Registration is done through agents authorized by a department of the US Government, somewhat like automobile license plate numbers. Anyone can register a Domain Name if it is not already registered to someone else. Domain Names can be bought and sold, at whatever price the buyer and seller agree on. A few have sold for over a million dollars, others become available for just the registration cost when a registered owner lets it expire. My doing this is, and always has been, completely voluntary. I have not taken one penny from either park, or anyone else for this "service".

In one of the early meetings at West Park I agreed to put official West Park notices up on WPQA, saving the park the expense and work of mailing such notices. This was overwhelmingly approved by the lot owners. I suspect from a legal point of view the park would cover it's obligations if the notices were simply posted in the club house. But for many of the residents, especially during the summer months, internet access is a lot more convenient than the club house.

Everything you see on the first page of either of these domains, I have posted. I have done my best to make sure they are accurate and approved by those who are involved. If I think other web sites would be of interest to the readers I may put links to them. Examples are: Google, a map of Quartzsite, and a NOAA weather forecast for the area.

Recently, there was complaints because I had some notes about the Isaiah 58 Project. I have lived in the San Francisco Bay area for over 30 years. I have seen the problems of "Aggressive Pan Handling". I have been dragged into an alley and threatened a broken arm if I didn't give the fellow $40. A friend over 80 years old was mugged, robbed and put in the hospital for over a week. (His comment after he got out was: "Ohh--they are mean!") Unfortunately, a lot of those who frequent "Soup Kitchens" are on drugs, are social misfits, and are not safe to have around an older population--who make easy "hits".

Because of these complaints: In the future WPQA and MVQA should not be the main or only source for "Official Resort Notices". No one should feel, in any way, they are required to look at what I have on these web pages.

I feel it is of interest to the older residents of Quartzsite to know what is going on, including the Isaiah 58 project, and I may have links to such information.
