My name is Kyle H. Phillips and I am asking the people of the 5th district to trust me with your voice on the Knox County Commission.
The issues as I see them are threefold:
1. We deserve a commission with integrity which is accountable to the people
Governing and spending people's money are not easy tasks, but elected officials must explain proposed expenditures vs. revenue sources, our tax dollars, and let the people respond.
As county commissioner I will answer to the people.
2. Education
Ensure the new high school is built on time and suited to the changing needs of education today and tomorrow.
Work with our school board to find new and innovative solutions to meet the challenges of educating our children. We need to be willing to question the current paradigm.
3. Fiscal Responsibility and Responsible Progress
As commissioner I will look at the expenditure side of the budget equation first.
The need for a new high school should never have reached the crisis point.
Progress should be driven by the private sector not government.
