Character

Character is quite simply unavoidable. Without character there is no reliable means to govern or assess the affairs of human life.

Laws are no substitute for ethics and morals. What is legal is not necessarily either ethical or moral. Laws need only exist when the moral fabric of individuals is inconsistent with maintaining the common good of all. Humanity is not basically good or no humanly written laws would be necessary.

Character is built one choice at a time building a framework for later decisions. When the foundation is faulty later decisions will likewise be faulty. Foundations that are sound will yield decisions that are sound. The longer standing a foundation is the less likely are you to depart from it. That is true regardless of foundational soundness.

My chararcter foundation was focused on a search for truth. It did not matter where the search took me nor how long. I have found it and the resulting inner satisfaction regardless of outward conditions.

Naturally there is an aversion to lies and deceit of whatever form they may be found. I respect others by as necessary leaving them in my personal past when asked to embrace a lie as the truth.

Further character basis is the pursuit of wisdom. It may appear foolish to some but only when viewed from the temporal perspective. I look at things through the lens of eternity. Eternal life begins now for those who have accepted Yeshua H'mishiach better known as Jesus Christ for who he is. Therefore no reason exists to live in a manner unworthy to be called Christian (meaning little anointed one).

For not having the worlds perspective to begin with it was easy to accept Christian thinking patterns as my own. It is harder to fathom worldly thinking which pervades all religions.
