Current and Upcoming Events (or what trouble we're probably going to get into)Rotating soccer ball.

Both Kathleen and Stephen are doing well. Basketball season ended for both and their teams did well although Stephen's season was cut a bit short when he broke his hand.   Both Kathleen and Stephen made A/B Honor roll this past semester and both are going to try for straight A honor roll next year (at least that's what Mom and Dad are hoping for).

The Guided Missle Destroyer - USS RooseveltWe got some more good news from Stephen's  Navy Junior ROTC unit.  As you may recall he was selected by the head of the JNROTC, Captain Holland, to be the Cadet Commanding Officer of his unit for this last semester.  Being promoted to a position of Cadet Officer as a 14 year old Freshman is an accomplishment in and of itself.  Stephen also was selected as one of four Freshmen JNROTC cadets in his class to attend the Annual JNROTC Dining-In.  That affair is normally reserved for the more senior cadet officers but it seems they select some junior classmen to attend - a sort of "let's see how they'll fit in the future".  But the biggest bit of good news was that he was awarded the Fleet Naval Reserve Associations Medal for his cadet achievements at the graduation ceremony.  That added to his ten or so cadet service medals and ribbons he earned during this past year.  And finally he has also been selected to go to JNROTC Mini Boot Camp this summer.

Stephen's soccer photoStephen also played Spring soccer this year.  During the season he proceeded to brake his foot. and being a glutton for punishment he is also going to a Soccer Camp up in South Carolina near the border with North Carolinas later this summer.  They have some English Premier League Players as coaches so Stephen is really looking forward to that.  He did make the High School Soccer team and will therefore have to practicing three mornings a week for part of the summer.

Kathleen_BB.jpg (5629 bytes)Kathleen and Stephen are still very active as acolytes in Christ Church.  Kathleen won the Spring Acolyte sports trophy this year.  The Diocese of Georgia published an article about Kathleen and her sports activities in their magazine.   The article can be viewed by clicking on her photo at the left.  If you wish to read the whole newspaper you may do so by clicking here.  The magazine is published both in a regular newsprint as well as an on-line format using Adobe Acrobat (.PDF format).  Since both the extracted article, as well as the whole newspaper, is in PDF format it can take awhile to download to your browser and then to show up on screen.  That is particularly true for the whole paper - It is not recommended that you attempt to download the whole paper unless you have lots of time and high speed Internet access - better to just get the article  itself if you have a dial-up connection.  Note: If you don't have Acrobat Reader on your computer you may download it for free from the Adobe Acrobat Website by clicking here.

And finally, y'all come and visit us ya hear.   We finished tiling the downstairs family room, kitchen, back hall laundry and the downstairs bathroom a couple of months ago.  We have also just made some replacements to the kitchen and later in June are painting about half the house including the front hall, stairway, upper hall, family room, kitchen, back hall and laundry, and the downstairs bathroom.  We also hope to do the master bedroom and bath shortly afterwards.  They'll be lots of changes for everyone to see.  Plus you can see if we have really lost out collective minds over color choices.
