Last year I had over 3,000 visitors conducting over
8000 page views (combined of course, I don't have eight thousand pages). In fact,
my number one page is my
USS
Louisiana Page. It was viewed over 2,000 times. I think that it is amazing that so many people search
for these pages. So here is a listing of my military pages and previous
commands all in one spot.
-
My USS
Von Steuben (SSBN 632) Page
- My first submarine. Assigned to the Blue
Crew, 1988 - 1992 (4 and a half years).
- She defended freedom and democracy during the height of the Cold War with her sixteen TRIDENT I missiles. She was one of the last “41 for Freedom” Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) submarines left in the Navy. She completed 86 Strategic Deterrent Patrols in her 30-year lifespan. I completed 8 patrols during my 4 and a half years on board VON STEUBEN, earning 4 Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, a Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal (Persian Gulf War No. 1), a Humanitarian Service Medal (Hurricane Hugo), an Expert Pistol Medal, and eight citations for superior performance.
-
My USS West Virginia
(SSBN 736) Page
- My second submarine. Assigned to the
Gold Crew from 1997 to 2000 (4 year tour).
Assignments
included SF LPO (Strategic Missile Fire Control, Leading Petty Officer), Assistant Training Officer, and Command Financial
Specialist.
- I participated in the successful launch of four TRIDENT II missiles during two Follow-on Commander in Chief Evaluation Tests (FCET). As the LPO, I oversaw all Missile Fire Control operations and managed and supervised all Fire Control maintenance, qualifications, and training of personnel. I completed 7 Strategic Deterrent patrols onboard WEST VIRGINIA earning several citations, a Good Conduct Medal, and 2 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
My
USS
Louisiana (SSBN 743) Page
- My third and last submarine. I was assigned to the Louisiana
Gold Crew from Nov 2003 to Nov 2006. Assignments included SF LPO and SWS
LPO. I completed my military career onboard the USS Louisiana last
November. My retirement ceremony was held at the Naval
Undersea Museum, October 20, 2006.

Completing 3 years at TTF I earned a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. (Will

twice. I served a variety of assignments, including Lead Instructor, Evaluator, Team Leader,
Section Leader, and Senior Section Leader here from 1993 -
1995 and 2001 - 2003.
