- Current News
I have added a Current Status section to my homepage (just like facebook has), that way you can keep up with what I am doing each day.
- I have added a hobby page to my website. It will be added to each time I update my train set.
- I am currently working for the second largest aerospace and defense contractor in the world, BAE Systems. I still teach and train, but will also be updating Navy curriculum, conducting training analysis, and other related training activities. I teach in Crystal City, Virginia (outside Washington, D.C.) usually once every two or three months for about a week. I like to travel so it's pretty fun and I pick up lots of airline and hotel points that way.
- Now three years out of the military, I have completed purged myself of the urge to put a cover on my head when I leave a building. I still enjoy sleeping in, never having inspections, never going out to sea, and love not having shift work.
- I enjoyed working with the University of
Georgia, Cooperative
Extension, as an Energy Educator in which I planed, developed,
and delivered consumer educational programs related to energy
conservation and to the natural gas industry. I worked with the University for over a year and received the following four awards:
- Memberships
- American Society for Training and Development
- The American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) has the content, resources, professional development,
and network to help educational professionals achieve exceptional results. ASTD is the worlds largest association
dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals. ASTD's 70,000 members and associates come from more
than 100 countries and thousands of organizations. For more information, visit
www.astd.org.
- Sons of the
American Revolution
- The Sons of the American Revolution is an ancestral lineage
organization of men who trace their family to veterans of the
American Revolution. The
National Society dates back to 1889. The SAR was conceived as a
fraternal and civic society composed of lineal descendants of the
men who wintered at Valley forge, signed the Declaration of
Independence, fought in the battles of the American Revolution,
served in the Continental Congress, or otherwise supported the cause
of American Independence. SAR
mission is to preserve America’s heritage, promote education on
our nation’s history and to participate in patriotic events and
celebrations. For more information, visit www.sar.org.
- American Legion
- The American Legion is an organization of veterans of the United
States armed forces who served in wartime. Their primary mission is
to help American veterans and their families, as well as American
children and youth. In addition, the organization continues to press
for improved educational and medical benefits for new veterans, and
for a complete accounting of all prisoners of war (POWs) and
soldiers listed as missing in action (MIAs). For more information,
visit www.legion.org.
