#1   13 inch Betsy McCall by Horsman
Here is a 13 inch Betsy McCall doll by Horsman. These were made in or around 1974. She originally came in a box with a hairpiece and makeup and she was dressed in at least three ways, from what I have seen on eBay and in a book. (The book also says there was a black doll.)
I have seen sellers of dolls like this version of Betsy "never removed from the box" asking for $160 and $175 on eBay and other places on the internet. (On 10-6-11, there were two on eBay.)
My doll was one I bought through eBay years ago. Obviously, she is a "played with" doll and does not have her original outfit, box, or the accessories. She is not made from a high quality plastic.
You can see/feel the ridges where the plastic comes together. Also, on her heels, there is one hole on each heel. I don't know if those were made because of how she was attached in the box or how she was held in place when originally made in a mold, but the holes' placement and size are the same. There is also a hole in the crotch area, again likely from how she was molded. I don't see any stains on her, except there are three tiny places around the eyes that have a little bit of black which I think is make-up from when the little girl prior to me played with Betsy.
Her hair is rooted and she is a jointed doll but there is very little movement of the neck. There may be some hair caught in the neck area. The plastic of her head and arms are a softer plastic from the rest of her. I would say they are vinyl and the rest is hard plastic. She has open and close eyes and they work well.
This dress she is wearing is not original to her and I would not call it well made. It closes with Velcro at the back and the seams are the unfinished type. I am including a photo of the inside of part of the dress.
At one time, I wanted to have one Betsy McCall in all the different types of Betsy McCall dolls that were made. I didn't get that far before I starting selling them. I still have the beautiful 14 inch Ideal Betsy McCall which was the first type of Betsy McCall doll made after the paperdolls in the McCall's magazine and I have several 8 inch American Character Betsy McCall dolls. I have since sold Rothschild Betsy, Tomy Betsy, Uneeda Betsy, 22 inch American Character Betsy and some I have probably forgotten about.
You are welcome to check my Feedback in eBay. I am shymainer there and as of 10-8-11 I had 100% positive feedbacks on 179 feedbacks received.

#2   Earth Angel by Lee Middleton
This is Earth Angel by Lee Middleton. You will see in the photo that Lee has signed the back of the doll's neck and you will see that the year 1993 is impressed into the back of the neck. (Her certificate of authenticity says she was born October 1, 1997, though. Her box and certificate both say Angel Kisses, "Earth Angel" because Angel Kisses was the face design that Middleton came up with and then in 1997 made up this particular doll, Earth Angel, I believe.)
She is marked 1015 out of 1500 of these dolls made. The Middleton website says she originally retailed for $130.
I love the ring that she is wearing around her neck and it is even wrapped in yarn the way so many of us girls did when we got a ring from our boyfriends!
I don't know if the elastic in the waist of her jeans has gone slack or if those jeans are just loose, but I noticed when I was preparing to put her into her box that they are very loose. But her shirt covers the top of the jeans anyway, so you don't notice.
She comes with her certificate of authenticity and her original box. (I noticed there are three water spots on the box. It was stored in the loft of a garage, but the doll was stored in a truck in my house.)
