Troop Meeting, March 2nd, 2010

Troop Pre-Meeting Activity (6:45-6:55pm).

  1. (Joel) – Opening (7pm):
    1.  Flags.
    2. Oath, Law, Code.
  1. (Joel) - Next Troop meeting is March 16th at 6:50pm. 
  2. (Joel) - Next PLC / Leader meeting is March. 9th. Rochester Library at 7pm. Scouts wear Class A.
  3. (Joel) – Next Round Table meeting March 4th. 7pm at Cross Lutheran. Need someone to go?
  1. (Joel) – We officially have new Boy Scouts.  Older Scouts introduce themselves to newest Scouts.
  1.  (Patrols) – Breakout.

Devil’s Lake April 23-25th & YMCA March 27-28th have fliers due back next Troop Meeting) (Order of the Arrow Election March 16th, Scouting for Food March 20th & 27th )

(CIT ‘early bird’ money is due March 16th or if you are a new Scout, due April 27th)

  3. (Joel) - National Hall of Leadership Nominations Update: Deadline for nominations extended to April 2, 2010. One inductee will be selected from each local BSA council in the country along with one from the national office. Inductees will be announced at the National Jamboree 2010 in Ft. AP Hill, Virginia.       www.scouting.org/100years       Each Patrol should try to nominate someone.

  2. (Frosty) - OA Minute.  It’s important every single Scout be here March 16th.  We need 51% of the Scouts present or we can’t hold an election!  OA members: wear sash next meeting because of the election.

Patrol Leader keeps this in his binder

  1. Order of the Arrow election: Please come to the March 16th meeting!  We need at least 51% of the Troop to be there in order to have the vote.  Election requirements: Be least First Class Rank.  Camp at least 15 nights in past 2 years (summer camp can only be counted once).

Scouts who meet election requirements: Nate B., Sam C., Zach G., Christian K., Ryan L., Tyler R., Will R., Darren R You can vote for as many people as you want. Consider voting for everyone . . .   

2.      March Event: YMCA Lock-In is Sat 27th – Sun 28th.  Contact Leader is Alex Nowacki.  Flier due back March 16thGO OVER FLIER 

3.      March Service: Scouting for Food  Contact Leader is Matt Nordman.

a.       Bag hand out is March 20th & bag pick up is March 27th  

4.      April Event: Devil’s Lake State Park date is April 23-25th.  Contact Leader is Christian Kumbier.  Flier due back March 16th GO OVER FLIER 

5.      Camp Indian Trails: summer camp ‘early bird’ money is due March 16th.  Give your signups to Mrs. Domagalski.  Merit Badge sign-up sheets should be turned in by the April 27th Troop Meeting.

  1. (Joel) – Mrs. Domagalski would like to talk with the scouts who started the Aviation Merit Badge at the MB Clinic last March.  Mark, Peter, Riley, Korey, Zach, Nate, Alex Nowacki, and Will.

Patrol Breakout, Feb 16th, 2010

  1. Cub Scout Crossover: 6:30-8pm, Sat Feb 20th at Waterford High School Commons. We need Scouts to help welcome the joining Scouts (neckerchiefs, slides, and Indians to do the ceremony).  Any Scout or adult is encouraged to come.
  1. National Hall of Leadership Update: Nomination deadline extended to April 2!  Has anyone done this online yet?  Each Patrol should try to nominate someone. www.scouting.org/100years

6.      April Event: Devil’s Lake State Park date is to-be-determined.  Contact Leader is Christian Kumbier.  

7.      Den Chiefs: Last meeting we didn’t get more Scouts to sign up.  Ask Patrol mates to open handbooks and see who needs a leadership position for STAR, LIFE, or EAGLE Ranks.  The Troop needs 5 more Den Chiefs to start Feb 20th. Current DCs are: Tom, Zach, & Kyle N.  A DEN CHIEF works with a Webelos Den and their Den Leader in the Cub Scout Pack.
