Dr. H. Edward Elrod was born in Miami, Oklahoma. He was raised in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from Northeast High School, he spent many years as an Enlisted Soldier and Officer in Special Forces in the Military, and is proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. Dr. Elrod and his wife, Esta, reside in Fort Payne, Alabama, where he has held his practice for over 20 years.
Educational Background
Dr. Elrod attended the University of Missouri for his pre-professional training, and Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, for his Healing Arts Education. He had over 4800 hours of Healing Arts Training while attending Cleveland College. His studies included Physiology, Pathology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Microbiology, Anatomy, X-ray Pathology, Physical Examination, Pediatrics, Geriatrics and Clinical Internships along with other Health-related classes common to the Medical, Osteopathic and Chiropractic Physicians Education. His Special Education consists of: Over 400 hours of Post-Graduate courses in Non-Surgical, Conservative Orthopedics from National College in Chicago, (Modern Diagnostic Techniques and conservative treatment of Neck, Back and Extremities injuries and disorders). Orthopedic Neurology, Electro-Diagnosis, Casting and Bracing, Orthopedic Rehabilitation & Exercise, Diagnostic Lab, Orthopedic Radiology, Arthritis, Special Studies in Diagnosis and Treatment Protocols for conditions of the Wrist, Elbow, Shoulder, Back, Hip, Knee, Ankle, Foot, Hand, Lumbar and spine.
Primary Care Family Practice
Dr. Elrod has also taken courses on Neuro-Emotional Technique (N.E.T.), dealing in Biochemical, Emotional, & Structural problems. N.E.T. addresses the emotional component, the third leg of the triangle of health, in a safe, effective, physiological way, with a spinal adjustment. Using Muscle testing, body reflex points, and semantic reactions (Physiological reactions to memories or words), Dr. Elrod assists and guides you to recall a specific emotional memory, while he adjust the associated spinal Subluxations. This technique has been remarkably accurate, and helpful, in treating his patients. It has produced very successful results!
Sports Education
Dr. Elrod has taken additional courses in Sports Injuries form Physicians working with "Professional & Olympic" athletes.
Industrial Education
Dr. Elrod has taken a 120 hours Post-Graduate course in Industrial Consulting from Logan College of Ergonomics in St. Louis. The Industrial Course included instruction for PHD's from many Universities interested in preventing or treating work-related conditions; such as, work site analysis, pre-employment examinations, pre-placement exams, back and neck schools, wellness training, evaluations of seated work areas, evaluation of ergonomics or assembly lines, lifting jobs and seated work. Soft tissue micro trauma, such as tendonitis and carpal tunnel are also handled in the clinic.
Automobile Accident Education
Dr. Elrod has had numerous post-graduate courses in Auto-related, soft tissue injuries. These courses were taught by Attorney Melvin Belli, F. Lee Bailey & Ben Bernstein, who are considered to be experts in the legal aspects of Whiplash and Soft Tissue injuries. Along with the Auto-Accident courses, Dr. Elrod's training in Industrial Consulting and Chiropractic Orthopedics has helped in the handling of these unique cases.
Additional Education
Dr. Elrod had had other post-graduate courses in various Chiropractic Techniques, Nutrition, Sport's injuries, Physical Therapy, Physical Rehabilitation, Hospital and Referral Protocols. Wellness programs (the prevention and preservation of health naturally), Nerve conduction testing, and Surface Electromyography testing.
