    Friday the 13th..
Well I fucked up again. It cost me my job at Home Depot.

Essentially, the upper management has been cleaning house lately. There is a policy that states we may not 'mark down' any merchandise for our own purchase. Makes sense. Otherwise it would be rampant.

In a nutshell, I had someone mark down four pieces of redwood 2x4 from $8 to $4 a stick. I found semi-damaged ones and purchased them. Due to the fact that there is currently several people in the store under 'investigation' for serious theft, my name came up apparently. I was called in and grilled. I told the truth and made a statement. Not good enough. They sent me home last night pending...

Today I received the call and was told they will be letting me go and I need to come in at some point to sign some documents. I will be leaving shortly.

Interesting side note on all of this shit: Today is Friday the 13th... Not only that, yesterday when I arrived at work one of my co-workers was telling me that he had a dream the previous night about me getting fired... I laughed it off...

    Nazi Time Traveler's...
Go figure... I had a phone conversation yesterday with my friend who is helping me on a podcast. During the conversation she was mentioning some Dean Koontz books that she liked and recalled one of them was about these Nazi Time Traveler's..

I already have a twisted mind..and that's all it took I guess, just dropping that tiny seed during our conversation was enough to give my subconscious mind something to harvest after I went to sleep. I dreamed about them. I can't recall specifics but it was intense. My Dad used to have dreams.. very vivid and detailed dreams. He could have written stories...

I'll never forget the one he told me about where it was post apocalyptic and he was a member of one of the last surviving groups of humans left on the face of the earth. After the war, radiation had caused the plants to mutate.. become intelligent.. but the sun made them dormant so during the day they seemed dead. At night however they came alive.. some of them had the ability to crawl about, but it was the roots and the vines he said they had to watch out for..

They had to dig a moat around thier outpost and fill it with gasoline which they would light to keep the plants from killing them.. everyone took turns posted at all sides of the camp making sure the fire stayed burning.. behind the wall of flames the plants writhed and shifted looking for a way in.. Occasionally a vine would brave the heat and burst through, either impaling the person or wrapping around his ankle and dragging him away screaming into the night..

No shit.. this is the detail he described as he related this dream!

He said that in the end the plants got through, they couldn't find enough gas to burn and as the fires dwindled the vines began to slither closer.. roots began bursting up through the wooden planks below them wrapping around people and pulling them down into the earth...

    I miss my Dad.
