Soccer

 

       Tournaments

Tournaments in the section are growing with each new year.  Two successful section level tournaments both the KASI and the Annual Section Eight were recently held.  Positive feedback was received on both.

Congratulations to both tournament staffs for your hard work and dedication.

 

Insurance  Players are not covered by AYSO’s medical insurance in the month of August unless they are registered for the next playing season.

Training and Safe Haven

Starting August 1, 2008 coaches participating in tournaments shall be required to be coach trained in the age group that they are a coaching.

 

 

Safe Haven  AYSO coaches and referees must be Safe Haven trained.  No Exceptions

 

On Line Training

Training is available on line for a number of our courses.  Please take advantage of this resource.

 

Classroom Training A classroom and a soccer field are the best method to provide training.  Participants wishing to become an instructor must take the classroom training.

 

 

National Annual General Meeting 2008

Our organization had 899 eligible votes, 387 participants attended the NAGM and 315 proxies were cast.

Our section had 112 Eligible votes, 26 attended the meeting, and 71 proxies were cast.  That leaves us with 15 regions that did not provide a proxy or did not attend the meeting.  Your vote is important, please never forget this.  Next year let’s have 100%.  Thank you

 

Region / Area Reports

RCs your reports and updates to your area director are very important.  Please communicate.  Area reports are due quarterly to the section director and they are combined into a formal report to the National Board of Directors.  Regions please communicate!  Please exchange ideas and thoughts.  Thank you

 

Congratulations to the regions in Area G and its AD.  The area was recognized at the NAGM for having 100 percent participation in the Regional Performance Program.  Job Well Done!

 

 

Section Coach Trainer Randy Smith was recognized at a recent training course for his support and dedication to AYSO Soccer.  Randy is moving out of state.  Randy‘s “Can-do” attitude and is always willing to provide coach training will be missed by our section, areas and regions.  Have a safe trip and best of wishes.

 

 

Tony Buckett has been selected to serve on the tournament commission.  Tony will do a fantastic job!
