There is no such legislation currently. This bill will first be reviewed by a Congressional Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection.  </div> <bR> <div> <B>Consumer Product Safety Commission's Voluntary Furniture Safety Standards</B></div> <div> In addition, the Consumer Product Safety Commission is CURRENTLY REVIEWING the voluntary furniture safety standards.  We would like them to improve these safety standards as well as make them MANDATORY . </div> <bR> <div> <B>You can support these efforts by:</B></div> <div> 1.  Sign the <A HREF="http://www.petitiononline.com/HR1861/petition-sign.html" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="http://www.petitiononline.com/HR1861/pet"><U>online petition</U></A> for HR 1861.  We would like as many signatures as possible on that petition.</div> <bR> <div> 2.  <A HREF="http://www.cpsc.gov/about/contact.html " TARGET="_blank" TITLE="http://www.cpsc.gov/about/contact.html "><U>Write to the CPSC Chairman</U></A>, Nancy Nord to urge her to IMPROVE and make MANDATORY the current voluntary furniture tipping standard (ASTM-2057).
