This flying session began with Randy Sexton wanting to fly his Giant Stinger at the Mann Lake field. There's a paved runway, a much wider and longer runway more flying space without obstructions than at Sawyer R/C Field. One thing led to another and soon several flyers got involved. John Sawyer wanted to fly his Mustang ARF (Saito 125), Don Hart brought his 27% CAP 232 (Zenoah G45), Jerry Becker brought his Ryan (e-power) for a maiden flight, and Randy brought his Giant Stinger.
Dave Hagelganz was the pilot for the maiden flight of the Giant Stinger. No drama. It's a really sweet flying machine (even though it lost a wheel on the first fllight). Randy put several fllight on it during the session.
John Sawyer flew his Mustang several times with no mishaps even though the LG were a bit wobbly.
Jerry's Ryan also had an uneventful maiden. A beautiful flight for a really nice scale plane.
Don Hart had the most excitement of the day flying his CAP 232. After adjusting the engine the cowl was installed. The takeoff was kind of wild, but it got into the air and flew fine. After several minutes and several aerobatic maneuvers the engine quit. Don set it down in the wheat at the end of the runway. The LG were knocked off and the cowl suffered some cosmetic damage.
A great day of flying!
