Imagine strolling through the quaint streets of "Old Town" in Alexandria, the picturesque neighborhoods of Georgetown, or the historic villages of Harper’s Ferry or Williamsburg. Perhaps you have enjoyed viewing the indigenous architecture in the Bahamas, or admired the unique ambiance of European towns, built along winding rivers and guarded by castles. The appreciation of such images has given rise to this artist’s special interest in capturing the colors and textures of these scenes. With the use of a palette knife, the artist has developed a unique technique of painting, which has been described as "an almost abstract interpretation of color."

Hans Christian Andersen created a new style of writing and is considered the founder of modern fairytales. This original painting, signed by this artist, depicts the large red house at Nyhavn 20 in Copenhagen, Denmark, where Hans Christian Andersen lived when he wrote his first fairy tales in 1835. The painting is done with acrylic paint on stretched canvas and measures 18"x 24." The painting is unframed.

Copenhagen, founded in 1167, is Scandinavia’s largest city, but its friendly town center and beautiful winding streets make it seem much smaller. Nyhavn (New Harbor), which originated in 1670, is a long pedestrian quay on either side of one of Copenhagen’s major canals. It is one of the most atmospheric and picturesque spots in Copenhagen.

Paintings by the artist have found homes in private collections, and she has fulfilled requests for commissioned pieces. The artist has studied painting throughout her life, including classes at Connecticut College, the University of North Carolina, and with individual artists. (The artist has degrees in English, theology, and law.)
